Northlight Botox and Dysport

Botox and Dysport in Winter Park

Neurotoxin softens the lines that only appear when your face moves. It is the smallest, cheapest and most reversible thing on this menu, which is why most people start here and why it is the one treatment nobody should be paying a mystery price for.

10 to 15 minutes No downtime Shows on day 3 Settled at day 14 Lasts 3 to 4 months

What it actually addresses

Lines that are created by movement: the horizontal bands across the forehead, the vertical elevens between the brows, and the fan at the outer corner of the eye. It is also used for a gummy smile, a chin that dimples when it tightens, a heavy clench along the jaw, and underarm sweating.

What it does not address is a line that is still there when your face is completely at rest. That is a crease in the skin itself, and softening the muscle underneath will fade it slightly at best. The honest answer for those is texture work or a small amount of filler, and Camille will tell you which one you are actually looking at rather than selling you units that cannot fix it.

How it works, without the jargon

A very small amount of purified protein is placed into a specific muscle. That muscle stops contracting as hard. The fold it was making stops being made, and over the next two weeks the line above it relaxes out. Nothing is filled and nothing is removed.

Botox and Dysport are the same class of medicine from different manufacturers. Dysport spreads a little more from each injection point, which makes it efficient across a broad flat forehead and tends to show up a day or so sooner. Botox stays closer to where it is placed, which matters around the eye and the brow. Camille picks between them by looking at your face, and the price per unit is the same either way.

A unit is a dose, not a syringe

This is the part almost nobody explains, and it is the reason a per unit price on its own tells you nothing. A clinic charging $9 a unit and using forty units is more expensive than one charging $13 and using twenty five. Ask both numbers, everywhere, including here.

What to expect

In the chair
Ten to fifteen minutes. No numbing needed for most people, and ice if you want it.
Downtime
None. Small red bumps at each point settle within an hour. People go back to work.
When it shows
Something on day three, most of it by day seven, fully settled at day fourteen.
Follow up
Free, at two weeks. If an area needs a few more units it is topped up at no charge.
How long it lasts
Three to four months the first time. Slightly longer for many people after the second or third round.
Afterwards
Stay upright for four hours, skip the gym that day, and no facial massage for a week.

Price

$13 a unit. Most first visits land between $260 and $390, because most first visits are one or two areas rather than a whole face.

There is no membership required to get that price, no pricing tier, and no charge for the two week follow up. The consultation is free.

One result, in the north window

The same window, fourteen days apart.

Same distance, same lens, no filter, no makeup, and no smile in one frame that was missing from the other. This is one person’s result, not a forecast of yours.

Questions about neurotoxin

The four things people ask before they sit down.

Will my forehead look frozen?

Only if it is overdosed, and that is a choice somebody makes rather than a property of the medicine. Camille treats the forehead lightly and treats the elevens properly, because the frozen look almost always comes from flattening the whole forehead in one go.

You should still be able to raise your brows a little. If you cannot, that is too much, and the answer next round is fewer units and not a different clinic.

How many units will I need?

Between twenty and thirty for most first visits, which at $13 a unit is $260 to $390. It depends on how strong the muscle is rather than how old you are, and men usually need more than women for the same area.

The number is written down and shown to you before anything is drawn up, and it does not change once you have agreed to it.

What is the difference between Botox and Dysport, honestly?

Less than the marketing suggests. Dysport diffuses slightly further from each point and often kicks in about a day earlier, which suits a wide forehead. Botox stays put a little more, which suits precise work near the brow and eye.

They cost the same here. If you have had one and liked it, Camille will use that one.

What if I hate it?

You wait. There is no way to reverse neurotoxin, but it is completely temporary: it fades from month three and is gone by month four, with nothing left behind.

If a brow sits heavier than you want, that can usually be balanced with a couple of units in the right place rather than waiting it out. Come in and Camille will look at it.

I spent two years being scared of looking done. Camille talked me out of half of what I came in asking for, and I have gotten three compliments on my skin from people who have no idea I did anything.
